Cynthia Vance

Los angeles, CA

Born in Yokohama, Japan and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Cynthia Vance has been documenting the world of combat sports for over 10 years.

Cynthia began documenting sports while attending Moanalua High School, using the equipment from her media classes to film her local football, basketball and soccer teams. She also became quite engrossed with martial arts at a young age, inspired by Jackie Chan and Michelle Yeoh films and a popular Japanese manga called Hajime no Ippo.

Cynthia decided to combine her love of film with her love of martial arts and started to document her kickboxing coach’s journey in MMA after high school. She also edited "fan videos", combining music with video content to create highlight pieces which garnered a huge audience on YouTube and allowed her to be recognized by worldwide promotions.

She has worked for several promotions such as ONE Championship, Invicta Fighting Championships, Showtime Boxing and has also shot with professional wrestling promotions NJPW and IMPACT. Cynthia has been living in LA for the past 9 years and continues to document the world of female fighters, working for Invicta FC as their Creative Director and documenting for Ronda Rousey, capturing her life on the road as a professional wrestler for the WWE.
